Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple on earth and the third of the sacred Panch Kedar shrines. Continuing 1.5 km further uphill brings trekkers to the dramatic Chandrashila summit at 4,000m (13,123 ft), where you are rewarded with an astonishing 360-degree Himalayan amphitheater showcasing over 40 distinct snow-clad peaks, including Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba, Bandarpunch, Kedar Dome, and Kedarnath.
